Skinned

1 year ago, if you had mentioned the British TV show Skins to the teenage population of the United States, the majority would have raised an eyebrow or feigned interest. Now, only after MTV's botched remake has the rest of the country's adolescents been introduced to the uncensored, unrelenting drama that revolves around a chosen "generation" of high schoolers living in Bristol, England. Skinsanity has been steadily rising and now people are watching like theres no tomorrow, leaving those who watched before the epidemic partially pissed (due to the fact that their best kept secret has been ousted) and majorly pleased (because their beloved unknown show is seeing success across the pond). Now that Skins is a commodity, like all actors in shows popular in America, the stars of Skins have become icons. Girls in my high school fight over whether Freddie or Cook is the hottest of the "three musketeers" and pray for looks that could rival Effy's. In all the madness, I forget how much I loved the first two generations of Skins and all the ecstasy fueled, alcohol ridden partying that survived through to  Generation 3. Sometimes you've got to give in to win, so im bowing down to the Skinsanity.
